David S. Goodboy is an American financial writer, investor, and the founder of The Palm Beach Hedge Fund Association. He has played a significant role in the finance industry through various leadership positions and contributions to financial journalism and organizations. Mr. Goodboy was a partner at Eagles View Asset Management, a Manhattan-based fund of funds. During his tenure, he collaborated closely with founder Neal Berger, a highly acclaimed hedge fund manager who was recognized as the second top-performing hedge fund manager worldwide in 2022. He gained notable publicity as a “gatekeeper” at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago, a detail highlighted in the book The Grifters Club by authors Sarah Blaskey, Nicholas Nehamas, Caitlin Ostroff, and Jay Weaver.

He is notably the founder of the Palm Beach Hedge Fund Association, a prominent trade organization serving the investor, hedge fund, and financial communities in South Florida. Under his leadership, the organization has experienced remarkable growth, now boasting nearly 2,000 members over the past decade. David has been widely quoted in major global media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, Vanity Fair, Newsweek, The New York Times, and The Washington Post.  Earlier in his career, Mr. Goodboy served as a stock editor and journalist at Tradingmarkets.com, an active online financial educational platform and content provider for Yahoo Finance. In this role, he authored daily market views published on the Yahoo Finance homepage, reaching a worldwide audience in multiple languages. He conducted over 50 interviews with leading hedge fund managers, traders, economists, authors, and academics, establishing valuable connections within the financial industry.

His work at Tradingmarkets.com provided him with access to top financial talent, fueling his entry into the hedge fund space. His insights and articles are widely published across various online platforms, both under his name and as a ghostwriter for notable financial figures. His most recent book, Beat The Machines, addresses the challenges retail investors face in an era dominated by high-frequency trading and algorithm-driven markets. The book received rave reviews upon publication. Prior to these endeavors, David contributed to the development of E*Trade On-Air, the world’s first broker-owned media outlet. He also served as a daily stock commentator and stock picker alongside Jonathan Hoenig and Kate Bohner (formerly of CNBC) on a nationally syndicated radio program via Infinity Broadcasting. Mr. Goodboy resides on Palm Beach Island with his wife—an ex-Canadian Central Banker and Professor of Finance—and his son and daughter. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, kayaking, and boating on the local waters.
